UPDATE: We’ve since updated this article to reflect the fact that the movie is now in the number one spot for the series.

Last week saw the numbers roll in for One Piece Film: Red, which opened in Japanese theaters on August 6. It quickly took the number one spot for its opening weekend, and those numbers have only snowballed since. As of this week, One Piece Film: Red has soared past 7 billion yen—which is about US$52.97 million)—with over five million attendees recorded in Japan.

These numbers make the feature the highest grossing entry in the One Piece film series, leaping past 2012’s One Piece Film Z, which made 6.87 million yen during its run. Even more amazingly, this feat was accomplished in just the first 10 days of release.

Now that the film is out in Japan and doing well, the next event to pay attention to is the upcoming launch in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, which Crunchyroll has lined up for sometime this fall. Here’s the official synopsis:

Uta —the most beloved singer in the world. Renowned for concealing her own identity when performing, her voice has come to be described as “otherworldly.” Now, for the first time ever, Uta will reveal herself to the world at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans—excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance—the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is Shanks’ daughter.
