Enako to Voice Magical Sheep Girl Monster in Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! is all set to debut on April 3, and ahead of this some information has been released, including the fact that famous and influential cosplayer Enako will have a voice-acting role.

This technically isn’t Enako’s acting debut in anime, but it’s her acting debut for a full-length anime. Before this, she lent her voice to the anime shorts Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen and the special Ōsu no Bū-chan special. In Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!, she’ll be voicing Meegu-chan, who is a magical sheep girl monster. (The obvious question: will she also make herself a costume of this character to wear?)

It was also announced that the opening theme song “Shinkirō” (translated as “Mirage”) will be performed by rock band Frederic. Meanwhile, the ending song will be “One Way,” performed by Yūsuke Saeki.

The following actors and characters have been announced, though English spellings might change: Arthur Lounsbery will play Yudias Belgar, Toshiki Kumagai will play Yūhi Ōdō, Kōkō Fukushima will play Yuamu Ōdō, and Takuya Eguchi will play Zwiijō.

The anime is being made at studio Bridge, and Nobuhiro Kondo, who worked on the two Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens seasons, is back to direct. Toshimitsu Takeuchi is also back from Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens, and is in charge of overseeing the scripts of the series. The task of duel layout returns to Masahiro Hikokubo. In addition to this, Hiroshi Yamamoto is back to work as the sound director. Kazuko Tadano and Hiromi Matsushita, who did character designs Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens, are listed as also returning for their previous jobs.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! is the eighth main anime show in the massive Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. The last part of the anime franchise, Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens, made its debut back in April 2020. Yu-Gi-Oh! started as a manga series that premiered in 1996, and has since become a phenomenon.
