Light novel audiobooks are continuing to expand in America! Over the weekend both Yen Press and J-Novel Club made audiobook announcements while at Anime NYC.
Yen Press said it will be making audiobooks for the series Spice and Wolf by Isuna Hasekura, So I’m a Spider, So What? by Okina Baba, and Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai by Hajime Kamoshida. J-Novel Club will be making audiobooks for the series Slayers by Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi.
The first Spice and Wolf audiobook will come out March 15, 2022, the first So I’m a Spider, So What? audiobook will come out April 12, and the first Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai audiobook will come out June 14. No narrators have been announced yet.
A date hasn’t been given for the release of the first Slayers audiobook, but J-Novel Club has already done a nod to fans by hiring Lisa Ortiz, who plays Lina Inverse in the dub, to be the narrator.
The two companies also announced books they licensed. J-Novel Club announced the following light novels: Housekeeping Mage from Another World: Making Your Adventures Feel Like Home! by You Fuguruma with Illustrations by Nama; When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace by Kota Nozomi with Illustrations by 029; Prison Life is Easy for a Villainess by Hibiki Yamazaki with Illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima; Fantasy Inbound by Joe Takeduki with Illustrations by Shirabii; To Another World… with Land Mines! by Mizuho Itsuki with Illustrations by Neko Nekobyou; Forget Being the Villainess, I Want to Be an Adventurer! by Hiro Oda with Illustrations by Tobi; My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex by Kyosuke Kamishiro with Illustrations by TakayaKi; Magic Knight of the Old Ways by Taro Hitsuji with Illustrations by Asagi Tosaka; Saint? No! I’m Just a Passing Beast Tamer! by Inumajin with Illustrations by Falmaro; and My Quiet Blacksmith Life in Another World by Tamamaru with Illustrations by Kinta.
