Super Nintendo World Stays Closed, Other Parks to Reopen

The Japanese government has decided to keep a state of emergency in place until the end of the month for the Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hyogo prefectures. Universal Studios Japan, which includes the new Super Nintendo World, will continue to be closed in the meantime. Some other amusement parks are choosing to open at limited capacity, though. Sanrio Puro Land in Tokyo is one example. Yomiuriland, Tokyo’s largest amusement park, will also be reopening.

Hyogo prefecture’s Nijigen no Mori amusement park is opening up its Crayon Shin-chan section later this week.

Likewise, many theater companies in the aforementioned areas are choosing to stay closed down for the time being. The Fukuoka prefectural government said they would not be having the Tokyo Olympics torch relay because of the number of COVID cases.
