Pro Tennis Player Naomi Osaka Gets Her Own Manga

Professional tennis player Naomi Osaka, who is a three-time Grand Slam singles champion, is also a fan of anime and manga. Last year a tweet of hers referring to Prince of Tennis lead Ryoma Echizen as her “husband” went viral.

But now she’s getting even more involved in the otaku world, because there’s going to be a whole manga about her!

The manga will appear in Nakayoshi, a shojo magazine published by Kodansha, in an issue that will come out at the end of this month. Pretty Cure mangaka Futago Kamikita is doing the art, and Osaka excitedly shared the news (plus an image of her manga-style).

Osaka’s sister Mari Osaka will also be involved in the project, overseeing the work.
