Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! Anime Hits Screens in January

Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! Anime Hits Screens in JanuaryWoof Woof! The Bungo Stray Dogs comedy spinoff, Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!, just revealed its cast, staff and release window.

The series, which will be based on the manga of the same name by Kanaineko, portrays the Bungo Stray Dogs boys in super-deformed, uh, form, cooking up comedy fun. The manga has been running since 2015.

Here’s who’s creating this delightful series:

Director: Satonobu Kikuchi (Vinland Saga episode director)
Scripts: Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Girls’ Last Tour)
Character designs: Hiromi Daimi (Re:CREATORS episode animation director)
Animation: BONES, Nomad

The voice actors from the original Bungo Stray Dogs will be reprising their characters.

Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! is set to hit screens next January. That gives us plenty of time to catch up on the original series, which Funimation describes like this:

Stalked by a beastly white tiger, Atsushi Nakajima has no idea that the menace lives inside him—a power that catches the attention of the Armed Detective Agency. Using inhuman abilities to combat crime, this team takes Atsushi under the wing of their most eccentric member, Dazai. Together, they tear through mafia-muddled mysteries while enemies keep an eye on the tiger’s lofty bounty.
