Sou Hamayumiba’s Dropout Idol Fruit Tart manga—known as Ochikobore Fruit Tart in Japan) is getting ready to come to TV in an anime adaptation. The Dropout Idol Fruit Tart anime premieres this October—following a delay that pushed it from its original July plans—and the latest update has voice actress Yui Horie (Charle in Fairy Tail, Naru Narusegawa in Love Hina) getting in on the cast as Oto Kogane.
Pictured above, Oto is the acting president and heiress of Cat Pro, which is a major production company that serves as the home to rival idol group Cream Anmitsu.

The Dropout Idol Fruit Tart anime is directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi, with animation production by feel. Funimation already announced plans to stream the series as it airs. Here’s the official English synopsis:
Dropout Idol Fruit Tart follows a group of show business dropouts—rookie idol Sakura Ino, promising newcomer Midori Hemo, former child actor Sekino Roko, former model Maehara Nina and former musician Nukui Hayu—who all live in a dormitory together. But when it’s revealed that the dorm is set to be demolished, manager Kajino Hoho has a plan: Start a new idol group called Fruit Tart with the girls, and pay off a hefty 100-milliion yen debt.
