My Hero Academia Live-Action Hollywood Adaptation Announced

My Hero Academia Live-Action Hollywood Adaptation AnnouncedMy oh my.

My Hero Academia will be getting a live-action adaptation, it was announced today.

The adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi’s hit manga will be produced by Legendary, the folks behind the Hollywood version of Godzilla and Detective Pikachu. Producers Alex Garcia and Jay Ashenfelter are in charge of the film on the Hollywood end, while on the Japanese end it’s Ryosuke Yoritomi from Shueisha, the publisher behind My Hero Academia.

For those who’ve been living under a quirk-impervious rock for the last few years, here’s how Viz Media describes the manga:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…

My Hero Academia live-action adaptation: yea or nay?
