There’s good news for fans of Arata: The Legend — creator Yuu Watase says the series will be returning after a five-year break.

Watase shared this news on Twitter, referencing a meeting (probably with editorial) that helped get things back on track.

Watase, who is also the mangaka behind Absolute Boyfriend, Ceres and Fushigi Yugi, began work on Arata: The Legend in 2008. She had previously taken a 17-month hiatus before coming back to the project, then took off again for the past five years. But she did work on a “Remaster” edition of the manga during this time. Watase reported in 2018 that she was dealing with depression.

Arata: The Legend is published in English by VIZ Media.
