Yoshiki and Hello Kitty to Appear at Dodger Stadium April 16

Yoshiki and Hello Kitty to Appear at Dodger Stadium April 16Two legends of Japanese pop culture are set to appear at Dodger Stadium April 16. Before the Dodgers play the Nationals, fans will be able to catch Yoshiki (the singer/songwriter from X Japan) performing the national anthem and Kitty-chan (aka Hello Kitty) throwing the first pitch.

It’s being hailed as Hello Kitty Night, and it’s part of Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary celebration, for which Yoshiki is set to create a theme song. Yes, Kitty is 50! The character was created back in 1974, and has since been plastered across over 50,000 products, according to Prime PR Group.

This isn’t the first time Yoshiki has teamed up with Kitty: there’s a line of products called yoshikitty which playfully combine the two icons.
