More details have been revealed for Yashahime season 2, which brings everyone’s (new) favorite half-demon back for more later this year. Previously announced for fall, the latest has Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon continuing with an October 2 start date on Yomiuri TV and NTV in Japan.
Info on the opening theme song has also been revealed. Idol group NEWS is back to perform it, this time with the song “BURN,” the CD single of which is now out in Japan.
VIZ Media licensed Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon and the series streamed on both Funimation and Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan. Here’s how Crunchyroll sums up the story:
Set in feudal Japan, half-demon twins Towa and Setsuna are separated from each other during a forest fire. While desperately searching for her younger sister, Towa wanders into a mysterious tunnel that sends her into present-day Japan, where she is found and raised by Kagome Higurashi’s brother, Sota, and his family. Ten years later, the tunnel that connects the two eras has reopened, allowing Towa to be reunited with Setsuna, who is now a demon slayer working for Kohaku. But to Towa’s shock, Setsuna appears to have lost all memories of her older sister.
