World Trigger Author Goes on Hiatus for Health Issues

World Trigger fans might have a while to wait until the next chapter.

Writer and illustrator Daisuke Ashihara is going on indefinite hiatus to deal with ongoing health issues, it was reported in this week’s issue of Shonen Jump, in which World Trigger is published.

The writer is ostensibly dealing with the same health issue for which he has taken several short breaks since 2014: cervical spondylosis. That’s “a general term for age-related wear and tear affecting the spinal disks in your neck,” according to the Mayo Clinic.

Shonen Jump will announce a return date “in a future issue,” says ANN.

World Trigger debuted in Jump in 2013, and was made into an anime series that aired between 2014 and April of this year.

Wishing Ashihara a speedy recovery.
