Vertical Licenses Jiro Matsumoto’s Velveteen & Mandara

Here’s some manga acquisition news for ya straight out of Anime Weekend Atlanta. At their Sunday panel, Vertical announced the addition of Jiro Matsumoto‘s Velveteen & Mandara to their manga lineup.

The story follows the titular pair of Velveteen and Mandara—the former (known as Becchin in the original) calling a battle tank on a riverbed in Tokyo’s Suginami ward her home—who unite to wipe out a horde of citizens turned zombies.

The series runs one volume, which Vertical will ship in August 2011.
