Fans of the Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise are about to be treated to the new anime shorts series Uma Yuru. Mark your calendars for October 16, because the first three episodes will be released at 9:00 p.m. JST on the franchise’s YouTube page. After that, a new episode will come out each Sunday at 9:00 PM.
Here’s what we know about the cast: Misato Matsuoka plays Tanimo Gimlet, Meiku Harukawa plays Symboli Kris S, Ayaka Ohashi plays Vodka, Chisa Kimura plays Daiwa Scarlet, Yoshino Aoyama plays Tsurumaru Tsuyoshi, Azumi Waki plays Special Week, Sumire Uesaka plays Agnes Tachyon, Eri Suzuki plays Tosen Jordan, Nozomi Yamamoto plays Yukino Bijin, and Azusa Tadokoro plays Symboli Rudolf.
The anime is being made at Scooter Films with Seiya Miyajima of Umayon helming the project as the director. The task of series composition falls to Yoko Yonaiyama, who has worked on The Ancient Magus’ Bride. Screenplay credit goes to Yumi Suzumori of Komi Can’t Communicate and Seiichirо Mochizuki.
Looking further at the crew, the scenario supervisor is Seiga Kajisaki and the scenario director is Tetsuya Kobari. The art director is Masanori Yamaguchi, who is known for working on Sweetness & Lightning.
The original Uma Musume Pretty Derby anime came out in 2018, and the Uma Musume Pretty Derby game came out in 2021. Not only has the popular franchise given fans hours of entertainment, it has also brought about real-world effects, as seen when Uma Musume Pretty Derby fans helped take care of a retired racehorse.
