Tomori Kusunoki Leaves Love Live! Role Due to Illness

love live!

Tomori Kusunoki currently voices Setsuna Yuki / Nana Nakagawa in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, but her time in the role will soon come to an end. As announced on the official Love Live! website, Kusunoki will be stepping down from the role due to her health, with a successor to be announced at a later date.

After experiencing pain and numbness in her body back around spring of 2021, Kusunoki was eventually diagnosed with a genetic disease known as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (joint type). Since doctors say the disease has the possibility of progressing further and the recovery outlook isn’t terribly positive, they have advised Kusunoki to avoid putting any further burden on her body through excessive exercise.

Kusunoki’s activities within the role will officially cease on March 31, 2023.

Beyond voicing the Love Live! character, Kusunoki currently voices Makima in Chainsaw Man, and past roles include the likes of Hisame in To Your Eternity, Micha Necron in The Misfit of Demon King Academy and many more. She will also be voicing Annette in the Spy Classroom anime.
