Back in February, something new was teased for the Tokyo Mew Mew franchise, which all started with the magical girl manga written by Reiko Yoshida and illustrated by Mai Ikumi back in 2000. Details are light at the moment, but the veil has been lifted on a new anime project called Tokyo Mew Mew New.

At the time of this writing, Pony Canyon is holding a general audition for a new actress in the lead role of Ichigo Momomiya through its voice acting office, Swallow. The role previously went to Saki Nakajima in the 2002-2003 TV anime adaptation of Tokyo Mew Mew, which ran for 52 episodes.
