Koji Shinasaka’s Tohai – Ura Route Mahjong Tohairoku is a mahjong manga that ran in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion magazine from 2006 to 2011, and it’s officially getting an anime adaptation. Pony Canyon announced TV anime plans this week, with the animated version due out in 2024 and titled Tōhai – Ura Rate Mahjong Tōhairoku.
The Tohai anime is being directed by Jun Hatori, with Mariko Kunisawa overseeing scripts, Sayaka Anesaki handling character designs and Yusuke Shirato and Yuki Kishida on music for the EAST FISH STUDIO production. You can see an English-subtitled teaser trailer below.
