These Anime Girls Will Conquer Fall with the Power of Love

We can't wait to meet this big-hearted anime girls

The fall anime crop is almost upon us, and it’s a big one. With originals, sequels, adaptations, and media mix projects galore, there’s no shortage of new things to watch. Of course, the new season means new characters to love, and “love” is the name of the game for several of our incoming anime girls. Whether it’s platonic, romantic, or really really romantic, their love will win the day. Probably.

Here are a few of the new heroines preparing to conquer the new season with their big hearts and bigger feelings:

Frieren

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Frieren may not seem to fit in with the rest of these anime girls, but hear us out. This elven mage starts the story of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End relatively detached from her party, and for good reason. She’s an elf among (mostly) humans, meaning her perception of their time together is somewhat skewed. As her original party dies off and she befriends their apprentices, though, she begins to see the merit of forming bonds with people.

We’ll be joining Frieren on her journey to make this discovery about herself. And for much of it, she may still seem detached. But manga readers know that under that magic-obsessed, impersonal exterior is a big heart that wants to learn how to hold friends close.

Fuuko Izumi

Undead Unluck

Of all the anime girls coming to the new season, Fuuko is one of the most relatable. Well, in some ways. She dreams of her life being a shoujo manga, but she’s got a problem most of us (we’d venture) don’t have. Her “unluck” causes anyone she touches to suffer catastrophic consequences—the more she cares, the bigger the unluck. Of course, that’s just what Andy—the “undead” of Undead Unluck—is looking for. He can’t die… but if she falls for him, he could have the sickest death ever.

As manga readers know, this strange goal gets turned on its head. And while the unlikely relationship of Fuuko and Andy is the centerpiece of the series, Fuuko’s compassion spreads even further. In fact, that big heart of hers may well save the world. Heck, it may even change the universe forever. Talk about wicked sick.

Rae Taylor

I'm in Love with the Villainess

We aren’t the only one keeping our eyes on this season’s anime girls. (Or game girls, in this case.) Take Rae Taylor, nee Rei Ohashi, the isekai’d heroine of I’m in Love with the Villainess. During her dating sim playthroughs, she only has eyes for the protagonist’s noble rival, Claire. Now that Rae’s been reincarnated into the world of the game, she can finally make her crush a reality.

Bullying and threats don’t seem to dull Rae’s sparkle, either… if anything she’s more into Claire the meaner she gets. Will Rae’s optimistic crush melt this rival’s heart? There’s only one way to find out. (Well, more than one… you can also read the light novel!)
