These Anime Characters Will Eat Your Halloween Candy

Chibiusa, like her mom, would absolutely steal your Halloween candy

Have you stocked up on Halloween candy for the week? Got your bags of bite-sized snacks all ready for the trick-or-treaters? Good. Now guard them with your life. Because anime is full of characters who will absolutely steal it all from you.

Sweet-toothed characters are common, especially in children’s shows. But there are some who go above and beyond in their love of snacks. Take these three, who would absolutely polish off every fun-sized chocolate bar in the bowl when your back is turned. Yes, even the Krackels you were hiding.

L, Death Note

L, Death Note

Every great detective needs to keep his brain fueled, and L from Death Note is no exception. When he’s not calculating percentages for Kira-spotting, he’s wolfing down sweet treats while perched on chairs. We can’t imagine a bowl of Halloween candy lasting long when he’s in the zone.

L claims that, since the brain uses more energy than any other part of the body, he must have a constant supply of sugary snacks. This is also apparently why he’s so underweight: that big detective brain burns it all off.

Honey, Ouran High School Host Club

Honey-senpai, Ouran High School Host Club

None of the Ouran High School hosts is what they seem. The boys lean into their expected pretty-boy tropes, which bear only a passing resemblance to their real personalities. There is one thing Honey-senpai is across the board, though: a lover of sweets. And thus, we assume, a lover of Halloween candy left unattended.

If you’re a viewer/reader of the series, you know how deep Honey’s love of cute things and desserts goes. You also know that he’s a lot tougher than he looks, and could probably flip an entire room if he chose to. Our advice? Give him what he wants and back away slowly. And then go find more candy, in case he’s still hungry.

Usagi, Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon

Halloween, Christmas, birthday, festivals, or no reason at all. The Moon Princess just wants to enjoy her food. And we can’t blame her. If we were fighting evil by moonlight every night, we’d want to reward ourselves, too. Of course, this was a trait well before she learned her true identity.

And it’s a trait passed on to her daughter, Chibiusa. Though Sailor Chibimoon has sweet imagery integrated into her actual magical girl attacks!

Is your Halloween candy safe? Do you know what to do if hungry anime heroes catch sight of it? Stay safe out there.
