Key staff members and a new teaser visual were revealed for The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 during this past weekend’s Crunchyroll Expo 2022 event. While we don’t have a date for the return yet, Crunchyroll confirmed that the series will stream as it airs in Japan, and you can see the new tease while we wait for more below.
The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 staff includes director Hitoshi Haga, series composition writer Keigo Koyanagi, composer Kevin Penkin, opening theme performer MADKID and animation production house Kinema Citrus. The director is a change from season 2, which had Masato Jinbo at the helm.
Here’s how Crunchyroll describes the series:
Learning that other nations are enduring the Calamity Waves, Naofumi vows to fight. But before he can begin, word comes that the massive Spirit Tortoise is free. Left unchecked, this rampaging monster could destroy the world. He assembles companions Raphtalia and Filo and a few new allies, one of which reveals scary news—this was no accident. Someone deliberately unleashed the legendary beast!
