The Rising of the Shield Hero 2 Bumped Back to 2022

The Rising of the Shield Hero 2 (a.k.a the anime’s second season) was supposed to come out this October, but it’s been bumped back until April of next year. An exact date will be announced later. When it does come out, Crunchyroll is set up to stream it simultaneously.

The Rising of the Shield Hero was originally a novel series, which is being published in America by One Peace Books. The manga adaptation is also published by them, and they just released the audio book of the first novel. One Peace Books gave this description of the series:

“Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe! He discovers he is one of four heroes equipped with legendary weapons and tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction. As the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes, all is not as it seems. Naofumi is soon alone, penniless, and betrayed. With no one to turn to, and nowhere to run, he is left with only his shield. Now, Naofumi must rise to become the legendary Shield Hero and save the world!”
