The first full trailer is here for The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4, which recently lined up plans for a July 2025 premiere. The new trailer brings some news along with it, including the main staff behind the season and the theme songs.
MADKID will perform opening song “Resolution,” while Chiai Fujikawa will close things out with ending song “Eien ni Ikkai no.” Check out the trailer and read more about the staff below.
The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 Trailer
Hitoshi Haga is back in the director’s chair for season 4, with Keigo Koyanagi back to oversee scripts at Kinema Citrus. Franziska van Wulfen, Sana Komatsu and Masahiro Suwa return from season 3 as character designers, and Kevin Penkin is once again composing music. Former episode director Takanori Yamamoto is now assistant director.
One Peace books publishes the original light novels, as well as The Reprise of the Spear Hero light novels and manga adaptations of both series. And there are audiobooks. It gave this description for the first Rising of the Shield Hero light novel:
The Rising of the Shield Hero Plot
Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe! He discovers he is one of four heroes equipped with legendary weapons and tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction. As the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes, all is not as it seems. Naofumi is soon alone, penniless, and betrayed. With no one to turn to, and nowhere to run, he is left with only his shield. Now, Naofumi must rise to become the legendary Shield Hero and save the world!
