Those who have been keeping up with the second season of The Misfit of Demon King Academy anime will have to wait a little longer to see how it wraps. According to the official website, The Misfit of Demon King Academy II final episodes have been hit with a delay.

While fans wait for episodes 22-24 to air, the Japanese broadcast plans have been changed to compensate for the delay. On June 21, an audio commentary version of episode 19 will air. Episodes 22 and 23 will follow on June 28 and July 3, respectively, with an air date for episode 24 to be announced later.

This follows an earlier season delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which had the first half of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II restarting from the first episode on July 8, 2023. The second half of season two then kicked off its broadcast on April 12, 2024.

The Misfit of Demon King Academy is based on a series of light novels by Shu, and also has a manga adaptation. The first season of the anime ran from July to September of 2020. The second season has the cast and staff back in their respective roles, minus Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who was replaced by Yuichiro Umehara.

Crunchyroll currently streams the series and describes it like so:

Anos Voldigord was a tyrannical Demon King that eradicated humans, spirits, and even the gods, but became bored of eternal warfare and reincarnated with dreams of a peaceful world. However, what awaited him in reincarnation after 2000 years were descendants who became too weak after being accustomed to peace, and all sorts of magic that deteriorated to the extreme.

Anos enters Demon King Academy that gathers and educates those who are viewed as the reincarnation of the Demon King, but the academy could not see through his true powers and ends up branding him as a misfit.
