With a series of games serving as its basis, it should come as no surprise that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel anime has a bunch of returning cast members. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War kicks off its run starting on January 6, with Crunchyroll to simulcast the anime outside of Japan. Among the additional returning cast members are Jouji Nakata as Giliath Osborne, Daisuke Hirakawa as Rufus Albarea, Masakazu Morita as Lecter Arandor, Kotori Koiwai as Millium Orion, Yuuko Sumitomo as Aurelia Le Guin, Takayuki Kondō as Wallace Bardias, Megumi Toyoguchi as Sara Valestin and Kanae Itō as Campanella.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War is being directed by Hidekazu Sato (The Slayers Next), with Mao Emura and Hideki Ryoga on story verification and series composition, and Mina Osawa designing characters based on Shoji Hara’s original designs at anime production house Tatsunoko Pro.
Synopsis:
Septian Calendar Year 1205.
Lavi was born in North Ambria, the poorest region in the northwestern Zemuria. She enlists in the Northern Jaegers, the largest in the continent, to protect her hometown and distinguish herself from her grandfather Vlad, who was once a hero but betrayed North Ambria.
Her devotion to her missions often earned her violations of regulations, and one day, she is ordered to assemble a platoon with Martin, Iseria, and Talion for an impossible spy mission to Erebonia to gather information on the “Imperial Hero” a mysterious threat to North Ambria.
