Shin Megami Tensei V Hits Switch in 2021, III Gets Remaster

Shin Megami Tensei V Hits Switch in 2021, III Gets RemasterShin Megami Tensei V is set for a Nintendo Switch-exclusive release next year. That’s the word from today’s Nintendo Direct Mini.

The game, the latest in the Shin Megami Tensei series, will have a simultaneous worldwide release.

Shin Megami Tensei is, of course, a series of RPGs from Atlus set in a post-apocalyptic, near-future Tokyo. The most recent game in the series, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, was released back in 2016 for the 3DS, meaning it’s been a long wait for this latest entry in the series.

In addition, Atlus is also developing an HD remaster of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne for Switch and PS4. The game was originally released on PS2 back in 2003. The remaster will ship on October 29, 2020 in Japan and worldwide in 2021.

Here’s how Atlus describes V:

The time for creation has come, follow your will and decide the world’s fate. The newest entry to the classic RPG series from Atlus, Shin Megami Tensei V, arrives exclusively on Nintendo Switch as a simultaneous worldwide release in 2021!

And III:

17 years following its original release, the apocalyptic legend returns in a full high-definition remake. #ShinMegamiTensei III Nocturne HD Remaster arrives on #NintendoSwitch in Spring 2021! #SMT3
