It seems we’ve been seeing quite a few notable manga come to an end recently, and the latest is Tozen Ujiie’s Seitokai Yakuindomo. The series is getting ready to close out an impressive run when the final chapter debuts in Weekly Shonen Magazine this November.
Ujiie himself decided upon the conclusion timing, lining up the ending for this year’s 51st issue of the magazine. The Seitokai Yakuindomo manga has been gracing its pages since May 2007, with over 4.7 million copies in circulation. The 22nd and final volume launches in Japan in January 2022, which will bring the series to almost exactly 15 active years.
Today marked the launch of volume 21 in Japan. Here’s what Ujiie said about the release and the upcoming plans: “The 21st volume is out now. The next volume will be the last, so please stay with me until the end.”
Ujiie’s editor also commented: “I have nothing but words of gratitude for Ujiie-sensei. There were many fun things in this work, such as movie tickets with goods, so I will miss the members of the student council. I was a fan of Aria-san!!”

Seitokai Yakuindomo inspired two seasons of TV anime in 2010 and 2014, respectively, as well as anime films that were released in July 2017 and January 2021.
