School Rumble Ending Its Manga Run in Japan

July 17, 2008 Mangaka Jin Kobayashi’s bizarre class is finally graduating… out of the manga world, at least. Running for about as long as it took yours truly to get through college, School Rumble is seeing an end after six fruitful years of serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.
It’s understandable that fans would want to riot at unresolved plotlines, but the magazine is promising readers that Kobayashi’s story is “heading toward the goal,” so perhaps pitchforks and torches won’t be appropriate in this case.
Anyway, Japanese readers can look forward to, or mourn, the ending of the comedy next Wednesday, right when a great deal of us in the states will begin slugging through the halls of the San Diego Comic-Con!
