Sailor Moon R Movie Coming to U.S. Theaters in January

Get your nostalgia motors revving, because Viz just announced that none other than 1993’s Sailor Moon R: The Movie is coming to some American theaters this January in a new remastered version.

Accompanying the main 63-minute feature will be the short “Make Up! Sailor Guardians,” which proceeded the film during its original theatrical run in Japan.

The exact dates and location of screenings, which will include both subbed and dubbed versions, will be announced soon.

The film, which was originally released in Japan in 1993, was first brought to the States on VHS by Pioneer in 1999. It was relicensed by Viz, who are preparing a new dub of the film, in 2014.
