This Sunday marked the launch of the latest chapter of the Rent-a-(Really Shy!)-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Hitomishirimasu) manga, a Rent-a-Girlfriend spinoff by Yuka Kinami and series creator Reiji Miyajima. Along with the chapter came word that the series is about to go back on hiatus, with no date yet revealed for its return.
According to Kodansha’s announcement via the Magazine Pocket app, the series will be on hiatus “for a little while.” After launching in June 2020, the series went on a 14-month hiatus that just ended on March 6.
The Rent-a-(Really Shy!)-Girlfriend manga follows Sumi. Here’s the official synopsis via Kodansha Comics, which licensed the manga in English:
The official spinoff manga of Rent-A-Girlfriend, the rom-com turned hit anime, features fan-favorite Sumi, the shy girl longing to come out of her shell. The third collected volume of the series is set to hit stores in Japan on May 17.
