It’s been a long and colorful road for the Precure series, which just marked a major milestone with the 18th episode of its 21st entry, Wonderful Precure!. The episode aired in Japan on June 2, marking the 1,000th overall episode of the franchise.
It’s also been just a little over exactly 20 years since the first episode of the first series—Futari wa Precure/Pretty Cure—aired in Japan on February 1, 2004. To mark the occasion, the official channels shared a 30-second video that quickly spans its 20-year history with the help of Cure Wonderful VA Maria Naganawa on narration.
Wonderful Precure! made its way into the series on February 5, 2024 and is still running strong, with new episodes airing weekly in Japan and streaming on Crunchyroll. Here’s how the streamer describes it:
