There’s a headline I didn’t see myself typing before 2021 arrived! Now it’s anything goes, especially when it comes to the 25th anniversary celebration of Pokémon. The Pokémon Company International previously announced plans to mark the occasion with a year of pop star promotions that have Katy Perry front and center. One of the other artists recently revealed was Post Malone, and now he’s here with a cover of Hootie and the Blowfish hit “Only Wanna Be With You” to keep the anniversary train chuggin’ along.
Post Malone will follow this up with a virtual concert on February 27 at 4:00pm Pacific Time. You can listen to the new cover below.
Beyond that, something big is in the works for Pokémon Day, which is right around the corner. The official Pokémon Twitter announced a special Pokémon Presents video presentation for 7:00am PT tomorrow, February 26, so stay tuned for what could potentially be some very exciting news.
