Some otaku are interested in getting married with a wedding themed to their favorite anime or manga, which is why Sailor Moon and One Piece weddings are a thing. Now the popular series Oshi no Ko is coming out with its own line of official wedding outfits, which people can begin to rent this October!
The dresses and tuxedo were designed by Kiyoko Hata, a major designer in Japan. She themed the outfits based on the characters Ai Hoshino, Aquamarine Hoshino, Ruby Hoshino, Kana Arima, Akane Kurokawa, and Memcho. And during the press conference, Rie Takahashi (VA for Ai Hoshino) and Takeo Ōtsuka (VA for Aquamarine Hoshino) acted as the models for their character’s clothing.
Let’s take a look at the different designs!
These dresses were designed to capture Ai Hoshino’s personality.
An aquamarine colored tuxedo goes with character Aquamarine Hoshino.
The Ruby Hoshino wedding dresses come in aquamarine or pink.
Kana Arima goes for a deep red color.
Akane Kurokawa is a light lavender with roses.
And Memcho’s wedding dresses are all colored yellow.
Yen Press is publishing the original Oshi no Ko manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari and gave this description for the first volume:
Oshi no Ko Plot
Gorou is an ob-gyn with a life far removed from the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry—the world of his favorite idol, rising star Ai Hoshino. But when the two are unexpectedly brought together, their fates become intertwined in ways that defy all reason. For the good doctor, it’s time to stan(d) and deliver!
HIDIVE is streaming the anime adaptation. It was the streaming service’s most successful debut.
