Original Robot Anime from Kazuya Konaka, Ichiro Itano RevealedA new original robot anime from Kazuya Konaka (Sylvanian Families) and Ichiro Itano (Macross) is on the way.

The project, which is tentatively titled Rekka Densetsu (Legend of Rekka), was announced at this year’s Niigata International Animation Film Festival. The anime is produced by Niigata-based animation studio Konyoshi, which did the CG for Sylvanian Families, and is based on Jomon-period earthenware found in the prefecture said to depict an ancient local god.

Ichiro Itano is credited as original creator, while Kazuya Konaka will be the chief director. The director will be Naoki Ao, who worked as CG director on projects like Expelled from Paradise and Juni Taisen: Zodiac War.
