It’s hard to believe that the anime adaptation of Eichiro Oda‘s One Piece is nearing the decade mark, but it’s true. The manga celebrated this same milestone in style in 2007 (who doesn’t want to soak in a One Piece-themed attraction at Univeral?), and 2009 will see a new movie that’s tentatively known simply as One Piece 10th.
One Piece movies have historically opened during the Japan’s academic spring break, and James Wong’s Dragonball: Evolution will be hogging the spotlight this year. Pushed back a bit or not, what better way to celebrate ten gum-gum-slinging years than going to see the live-action version of Oda’s inspiration and then soaking in the latest One Piece movie?
