New Higurashi When They Cry Anime Revealed

Fans of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni game and anime franchise—also known as Higurashi When They Cry—will be delighted to know there’s officially a new anime in the works. Kadokawa and developer 07th Expansion announced the new project, which has anime studio Passione (Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers) on animation production.

Other details are light, but Akio Watanabe (Monogatari franchise) is handling character designs and Infinite is producing. Right now there’s an official website and Twitter account for what will be the first Higurashi anime since 2007, and you can see the announcement video below.
