Aura Battler Dunbine is one of the classics of Sunrise and Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, and it’s also been the subject of a recent project from Sunrise Robot Laboratory. Back in May, an experimental movie titled AURA BATTLER DUNBINE SIDE L was released, and now a followup has made its way online.
Fittingly, this one is titled AURA BATTLER DUNBINE SIDE R, with the letter standing for “Respect,” “Refine” and “Revolution.” Previously, the L in the title referred to “Legacy” and “Legend.” Check it out below for some animated footage and the project’s theme song, MindaRyn’s “Remaining Story.”
AURA BATTLER DUNBINE SIDE R
Bandai Namco Filmworks launched Sunrise Robot Laboratory on May 8, 2024. Its purpose is to “study and speculate on the Sunrise mechanics created to date from various perspectives, featuring robots that appear in Sunrise works, as part of efforts to communicate the appeal of anime, a Japanese culture, to the rest of the world.”
The experimental movies have Bandai Namco Filmworks teaming up with animation studio Kamikaze Douga (Batman Ninja). If you missed it, here’s the previous film:
