Netflix’s Bet, Based on Kakegurui, Is Getting Another Season

If you’re a fan of Bet, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the manga Kakegurui by Homura Kawamoto and Toru Naomura, then there’s good news for you — the show is getting another season!

Bet did well with international audiences, and hung out in Netflix’s global Top 10 for English-language series list for three weeks in a row.

Simon Barry, the director and showrunner, stated about the announcement: “I’m extremely happy for our amazing ‘Bet’ fans from all over the world, who get to enjoy another season, and for this incredible cast and crew to return to St. Dominic’s for more gambling and general madness.”

The show stars Miku Martineau, Ayo Solanke, Eve Edwards, Clara Alexandrova, Hunter Cardinal, Anwen O’Driscoll, Aviva Mongillo, Laura Afelskie, Dorian Giordano, Emma Elle Paterson, Ryan Sutherland, and Peter Outerbridge.

The announcement did not share a date of when we might expect to see the new season. Barry will executive produce it with Jeff F. King, David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg, Jon Rutherford and Nick Nantell.

Yen Press publishes the original Kakegurui manga and gave this description for it:

Hyakkaou Private Academy. An institution for the privileged with a very peculiar curriculum. You see, when you’re the sons and daughters of the wealthiest of the wealthy, it’s not athletic prowess or book smarts that keep you ahead. It’s reading your opponent-the art of the deal. What better way to hone those skills than with a rigorous curriculum of gambling? At Hyakkaou Private Academy, the winners live like kings, and the losers are put through the wringer. But when Yumeko Jabami enrolls, she’s gonna teach these kids what a high roller really looks like!

Besides Bet, Netflix has also had a lot of luck with its live-action adaptation of the manga One Piece, which also has a second season on the horizon.
