The second live-action Kakegurui movie was originally supposed to open in Japan on April 29, but the COVID-19 pandemic and the State of Emergency orders issued as a result caused multiple delays. Its first postponement pushed it to May 12, and now the sequel is officially (hopefully) set to premiere on June 1.

This will follow an advance screening and stage greeting with no audience in attendance on May 27, with the event to be broadcast live across 169 theaters in Japan. The main cast members, director Tsutomu Hanabusa, and theme song artist milet will be present for the festivities.
