My Hero Academia Manga Takes Week Off Due to Author’s Health

Shonen Jump readers will have to do without the My Hero Academia manga in the next issue. According to the announcement, author Kohei Horikoshi recently had some health issues, so he’s taking a break and will be sitting out the issue that hits stands in Japan on September 13.

The break won’t be long, so hopefully Horikoshi is already feeling better. The My Hero Academia manga returns to the pages of Jump in the following issue, which will be out in Japan on September 18.

VIZ Media publishes the My Hero Academia manga in English, and releases new chapters right alongside Japan in the Shonen Jump app. Here’s the official description:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…
