Mika Kano, who is part of the Kano sisters, is famous for her fashion, and sometimes her fashion includes cosplay. On the sisters’ Instagram page, Mika shared images of herself as Makima from Chainsaw Man.
She released this one day ago, to coincide with the debut of the anime adaptation. You can see she got the hair down, the eyes down, and even the pose down. Here’s a figurine of Makima, to show how much they match up:
Of Kano and the figurine, who do you think got the look better?
Kano put several images of herself in this pose on Instagram, and while she didn’t share the Makima figurine, she shared figurines of Pochita and Chainsaw Man for good measure. As of this writing, her Chainsaw Man images and cosplay have gotten her more than 33,000 likes. Almost one hundred people have commented, mostly in Japanese, though some people just use emojis to get their point across, and there are a lot of hearts showing up in the comments section.
VIZ Media publishes the original Chainsaw Man manga into English, and gave this description for the first volume:
“Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!”
