Featured Spotlight: Media Do
Japan’s largest eBook distributor Media Do Co., Ltd. and its U.S.-based subsidiary Media Do International Inc. have teamed up with Taiwan-based non-profit organization TAICCA to bring some award-winning creators into the spotlight in both English and Japanese. The partnership will see a wide variety of Taiwanese manga creators’ works translated and promoted in the regions, starting with four Taiwanese manga titles that will also serve as the first eBook comics from Media Do’s vertical-scrolling digital comics initiative YUZU comics.
The four titles represent a wide range of storytelling, including three single-volume releases in slice-of-life drama Confessions of a 35-Year-Old by TEI, BL romance Three Seconds After Our Eyes Met by Rancha and apocalyptic romantic BL adventure Loving You When the World Ended by Gene. There’s also the three-volume supernatural fantasy The Light Conjurer (also by Gene), which, like the others, is available to read right now.
All four can be purchased from major digital platforms such as Kindle, Google Books, Apple iBooks, Nook, Kobo, Bookwalker, Mangaplaza and Renta.
Since its establishment in 2022, YUZU comics has produced over 50 vertical-scrolling digital comics across various languages around the world. This new endeavor has Media Do expanding the service into the eBook format with four excellent Taiwanese titles. Daihei Shiohama, CEO and President of Media Do International, had the following to say:
