Alice and Therese’s Illusory Factory, the new original film from Mari Okada (Maquia) was first announced back in 2021. We haven’t heard much since then… until today. Now we’ve got a teaser trailer, key art, cast details, and a release date: September 15, 2023 in Japan.
The film, which takes place in a town in which time has stopped, centers around a middle school student named Masamune, whose encounter with two mysterious girls upsets the balance of the world.
The film, which is being animated at MAPPA, features the following cast:
Junya Enoki as Masamune Kikuiri
Reina Ueda as Atsumi Sagami
Misaki Kuno as Itsuki
The staff includes:

In addition to directing and writing Alice and Therese’s Illusory Factory, Okada is also writing a novel of the same story.
