The special edition of the 19th volume of Soichiro Yamamoto’s Teasing Master Takagi-san manga is being listed on the Animate store chain’s website, and the image of the wraparound jacket band has some interesting information on it. According to the picture of the obi, the manga has a live-action adaptation in the works.

As for what kind of live-action adaptation that is—as in whether it’s a film or TV series—there aren’t any further details on the format. It is reportedly being directed by Rikiya Imaizumi, who previously helmed the live-action Hozuki-san Chi no Aneki and Call Me Chihiro films.

We should hopefully learn more when volume 19 of the Teasing Master Takagi-san manga ships in Japan this Friday, in both standard and special editions.

Yen Press publishes Yamamoto’s manga in English and sums up the story like so:

Middle schooler Nishikata has had it with his classmate who sits nearby, Takagi. Day in and day out, she comes after him with every sort of trick or prank. Even when he tries to tease her back, she’s always one step ahead but he’s not about to give up that easily in this battle of cunning and youth!

In addition to the TV anime, the series most recently inspired an anime film that made its way to theaters in the United States.
