Live-Action Promised Neverland Film Drops First Poster, Teaser Trailer

Amid all the madness of the past few months, we kind of forgot that The Promised Neverland was getting a live-action film adaptation! Now here to remind us is the film’s first official teaser trailer and poster.

Based on the popular manga by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu, the Promised Neverland film is due out in Japanese theaters December 18.

The film stars:

Minami Hanabe as Emma
Jyo Kairi as Ray
Rihito Itagaki as Norman
Keiko Kitagawa as Isabella
Naomi Watanabe as Krone

The film is directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa and written by Noriko Goto. The pair worked together in the same roles on the live-action ERASED film.

Meanwhile, the second season of the Promised Neverland anime is set to hit screens in January 2021. Amazon is also developing a live-action English-language series.

Here’s how Viz describes the original Promised Neverland manga:

Emma, Norman and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn—what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing.

Looking forward to the Promised Neverland film?
