Live-Action Knights of the Zodiac Film Reveals Poster, Theme Song

Live-Action Knights of the Zodiac Film Reveals Poster, Theme SongLate last year, we got our first look at Knights of the Zodiac, the upcoming live-action adaptation of Saint Seiya.

Now we’ve got a peek at the Japanese poster for the film. We’ve also learned that the theme song will be “Courage” by P!nk. The song was originally released in 2019 on P!nk’s album Hurts 2B Human.

The film is set for Japanese theaters on April 28 and later in 2023 outside Japan.

Tomasz Baginski (The Witcher) is directing the adaptation, based on a screenplay by Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken (10 Cloverfield Lane). Andy Sheng (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) handles the stunt and fight coordination, and the film is produced by Toei Animation and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions.

Cast members include Mackenyu as Seiya, Madison Iseman as Sienna, and Sean Bean as Alman Kiddo, alongside roles featuring Famke Janssen, Nick Stahl, Diego Tinoco, and Mark Dacascos.

The original Saint Seiya manga by Masami Kurumada, which ran from 1986 to 1990, is one of the best-selling manga of all time.

Here’s how Hollywood Reporter describes the film:

In what is labeled an origin story, Mackenyu is starring as Seiya, a street orphan and the title hero of the franchise. When a mystical energy known as Cosmo awakens in him, Seiya embarks on a journey to conquer the ancient Greek armor of Pegasus and choose his side in a preternatural battle for the fate of Sienna (Iseman), a young girl who struggles to control her godly powers. Bean plays a mentor named Alman Kiddo, a man who recruits Seiya into the Knights order, which he founded when he discovered the reincarnated goddess. Tinoco is a man hired to kill the vulnerable goddess.
