It was just around the middle of the month that we posted about LiSA’s Demon Slayer movie theme song, “Homura,” officially going platinum. Now the single has been awarded with the top honor at this year’s Japan Record Awards, where LiSA took home the Grand Prix for the film’s theme song.
This big win at the 62nd Japan Record Awards marks LiSA’s first time winning, and it’s also one of the first anime themes to nab the honor. You can see LiSA performing at the ceremony in the image above.
LiSA’s Demon Slayer movie theme has been at the top of Oricon’s digital single charts for 11 straight weeks, which is also how long the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie has been #1 in the Japanese box office. The music video for “Homura” has also been watched over 100 million times on YouTube, so it’s been a mighty impressive run for the song!
