This coming weekend, the third live-action Kingdom film will make its way to Japanese cinemas, but there’s also more anime to look forward to beyond that. Kingdom season 5 is preparing to storm the battlefield when it hits TV in Japan in January 2024, and the first full key visual has arrived along with a handful of character visuals.

Yasuhisa Hara’s Kingdom manga is currently running in the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine, and all four seasons of the anime so far are available to stream on Crunchyroll, which sum up the series like so:
A nameless boy and a young king have grown up in a nation plagued by war. The boy, Xin, has countlessly proven himself on the battlefield, and although initially starting on bad terms, he and the young king, Zheng, have become comrades. Zheng wishes to bring all the warring states under Qin, while Xin climbs the ranks to become a Great General. Both of their ambitions will change history forever.
