It’s generally taken publisher Kadokawa six months to a year to get its books published in English, but now it’s looking at digital simultaneous publishing to get things moving faster. At the weekend’s Crunchyroll Expo panel, they mapped out plans to get their books published by the Book Walker Global online service at the same time they come out in Japan, starting with manga and then with light novels. It will then expand into other online book services. The light novels will come out a chapter at a time.
While Kadokawa plans to have more than 100 manga titles coming out simultaneously soon, it’s starting with the following seven manga (descriptions below titles):
1. A Boy Raised by Gods Will Be The Strongest by Toya Kuno, Ryosuke Hata and fame
“Will, an abandoned child, was brought to Table Mountain by the God of Thousand Theophanies, then educated by the God of Sword, Healing, and Magic. He grew up to be a surprisingly brave, strong and sweet boy. When he turned fourteen, a blind priestess Lunamaria visits the mountain and asked him to save the world. Thus the journey begins…!”
2. I’m Quitting Heroing by Nori Kazato, Quantum, and Hana Amano
“After saving the world, the strongest hero Leo became someone who is not wanted in the peaceful human world. He was too strong. Exiled, he seeks a job at the Demon King’s Army, which he had defeated and needs to be rebuilt. The Army had many problems: too much work, financial troubles, etc. Leo starts to make things better using his power. Leo encounters Echidna again, and asks her why she invaded the human world. There was an unexpected story—! This is the comic version of the Japanese novel which won one of the major online prizes for novels!”
3. Magic Stone Gourmet: Eating Magical Power Made Me The Strongest by Kenji Sugawara, Ryo Yuuki, and Chisato Naruse
“Goddess has made Ein reincarnate as a nobleman–a big chance. However, the skill he got from her ‘Toxin Decomposition EX’ is a lame one. One day Ein learns that he has a very rare talent which makes him able to absorb magic power by eating magic stones. Also he is told that he has other identity as a prince of the largest kingdom. 5. The 31st Consort by Tsubasa Nanaki, Momonotome, Nanao Yamashita

6. The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne by Yukino Amagai, Tanba, and Yunagi

7. The Lotus Eaters, Drunk and Sober by Mizutaki and ZUN

Their first three light novels will be Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway by Shimesaba and booota, I’m Quitting Heroing by Quantum and Hana Amano, and The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne by Tanba and Yunagi.
