The JUJUTSU KAISEN anime is heading back to the big screen in a new compilation film. As revealed at Sunday’s Juju Fest 2024 event, a new JUJUTSU KAISEN movie is on the way to compile the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death (Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu) arc, which previously took us back to the past to kick off season 2.
The Hidden Inventory/Premature Death is currently planned for a theatrical release in Japan sometime in 2025.
Previously, the first JUJUTSU KAISEN movie hit theaters to adapt the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 prequel manga. JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2 premiered on July 6, 2023 and had Shouta Goshozono taking over as director at MAPPA. Crunchyroll streamed the second season as it aired and describes the series like so:
JUJUTSU KAISEN Plot
Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
