JUJUTSU KAISEN Manga Goes on Hiatus Due to Author’s Poor Health

jujutsu kaisen manga

Gege Akutami’s JUJUTSU KAISEN manga is taking a break in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The official Twitter account for Jump released a statement announcing that the series will be going on hiatus for “about a month” due to the author’s poor health.

While that may sound bad, the statement clarified that these health issues aren’t serious and that Akutami doesn’t have any mental health concerns. The editorial department has apparently been asking the author to take a break for a while, but Akutami wanted to continue with the JUJUTSU KAISEN manga to see it through to completion quickly. After a long discussion, they finally settled on a hiatus, with the return date to be announced later.

For now, there will be one more chapter of JUJUTSU KAISEN on the way to this year’s 29th issue of Jump on June 14. Hopefully this break gives Gege Akutami some time to recuperate and feel better than ever.
